by Tamara Sophia (April 23, 2022)

How the April 30, 2022, Solar Eclipse relates to the Taurus New Moon Solar Eclipse. Its greatest impacts are on Taurus and Scorpio Sun AND ASCENDING SIGNS, followed by Leo and Aquarius.
If you are not one of the above signs, check below so see what the eclipse says about the major themes of your life now through fall 2022.
The next solar eclipse on April 30, 2022, is exact at 10 degrees Taurus.
Something is percolating; maybe you already have an inkling of what it is. Think back to April 2014 for a similar eclipse or before that to 2003-2004 for clues; this is when we last saw the same eclipse. This total solar eclipse completely blocks out the Sun, symbolizing a lack of full awareness and clarity, and a fuzzy sense of what is to come; like a new moon, but a particularly powerful one.
Follow your intuition for now and watch as it’s themes take shape in your life over the next 3-6 months.
Taurus/Scorpio Themes:
Identity crisis, loss of self, or deeper self-knowledge through relationship, relationship break-ups or renewals; self-promotion, relationship to an audience.
An eclipse in the first house (Taurus Asc) throws you back on the self. It might mean the end of an entanglement. Or merging lives with another. It’s about balancing relationships. Sometimes it’s about Health too, or the Physical body.
An eclipse in the 7th house (Scorpio Asc) reflects relationship upheavals, emotional shocks, or confrontations. What is being mirrored back to you, in relationship with this key person?
Aries/Libra Themes:
Natural talents-developing or squandering them; self-sufficiency or financial dependence; living according to your personal values or “selling your soul;” the building up or tearing down through crisis/drama, procreation (fertility) or some sort of death.
An eclipse in the second house (Aries Asc) hits on material realities-money; what you own or owe, what you’ve built with your own talents and skills. A crisis here could shake you to the foundations around finances and possessions that have become a part of you. This eclipse could also signal an investment opportunity, and your feelings around that.
Eclipses in the eighth house (Libra Asc) are intense, and inspire soul searching. There can be issues around debt - both financial and emotional. What toxic relationships do you have? This eclipse could trigger a cathartic event, asking you to face deep fears. Sexual issues also play a role, and power and control are entangled. You could be exposed to the dark side of a circumstance or a person. As well, you could discover your own shadow side, and gifts therein.
Pisces/Virgo Themes:
Being the student and/or teacher; seeking consciousness, experience and skills; getting credentials; acting on inspirations; readiness to expand horizons; apprenticeships, travel, urge to learn or just filling gaps in knowledge.
An eclipse in the third house (Pisces Asc) house jolts the nervous system, and highlights the networks you’re plugged into. Something meaningful happens in your ‘hood’ or in social media exchanges. Brothers, sisters, school mates and extended family play bigger roles. An eclipse here could also activate an urge to go back to school or be trained in a new field.
An eclipse in the ninth house (Virgo Asc) lures you out of the known, into the edge of your personal frontier. A path opens, and with trust in the universe, you feel ready to expand your world. This can relate to travel, a sabbatical or time as an exchange student. Your philosophies or beliefs are in flux, or you begin a course of study, not knowing how it’ll change you and what you can create.
Aquarius/Leo Themes:
You mother or father or parenting in general; public sphere and home life; emotional roots and ancestral legacies; making your mark and having a home base; authority and nurturing.
Eclipses in the fourth house (Aquarius Asc) bring attention to the home life. A crisis here could bring you back to your roots, through tragedy or sense of responsibility. The forces that shaped your emotional body loom large, perhaps triggered by a specific event. A parent is involved.
An eclipse in the tenth house (Leo Asc) rouses dynamics of authority-claiming it or giving it away. Events happen that challenge you to overcome your fear of success. What happens here builds character, and probably in a public way. As well, a crisis could highlight the home front, jolting us into action.
Capricorn/Cancer Themes:
Experiencing being special or unique within a group of unique individuals; love affairs are also at a critical point. There’s an urge to be seen, admired, and respected. Friendship sees ups and downs and there’s a call to create/express yourself either alone or in collaboration. Self-focused goals or going with flow of a bigger circle.
An eclipse in your fifth house (Capricorn Asc) could be a wake-up call to seize the day with your creative gifts. A romance of sorts may begin, that makes you fall in love with life. Acknowledge your need for recognition and set out on a path to bring your talents to fruition. Or, an event may bring issues to the forefront-turning what you love into your life’s work. There can also be shake-ups with children, or a gamble of the heart.
Eclipses in the eleventh house (Cancer Asc) relate to extended friend networks- acquaintances, colleagues and collaborators, near and far. Your attention is on these wider circles, with possible endings of certain alliances. You might meet odd characters, or reveal some of your own strange inclinations. The genius within is unleashed, or you feel more confidence and freedom to say and do what you like.
Sagittarius/Gemini Themes:
Health crises and healing; the physical vs the spiritual body and living fully engaged in your spirit. Being busy vs making time for dreaming and soul retrieval. A focus on service to others vs a sense of spiritual mission; noticing synchronicity and everyday miracles.
Eclipses in the sixth house (Sagittarius Asc) are about finding a satisfying (and productive) rhythm. Some crisis alerts us to the body or maybe your job is missing something? Are you seeking a sense of greater connection or purpose? Sometimes an illness or accident shakes us out of a deadening routine. Somethings got to give. An eclipse here demands an integration of the soul with work, for more soulful work. The focus is on health and well-being.
Eclipses in the twelfth house (Gemini Asc) bring to the forefront, the very real need to tend to your soul, day in and day out. Experiences now come in dreams or as soul messages. One outcome of eclipses here is to become aware of something previously veiled. It could be behaviors that you show in the workplace or relationships that have been unconsciously playing out. Learn about your shadow side. It could also be a breakthrough in your consciousness, but only after being humbled.
